Interior Design Inspired by Art: George Tjungurrayi & Brooke Campbell
As an interior designer, I often draw inspiration from art to shape unique and soulful interiors. Two standout pieces that influenced recent my project with Art Edit magazine are George Tjungurrayi’s Untitled – Kirrimalunya and Brooke Campbell’s Amber.
Tjungurrayi’s dynamic lines inspired a design centered around bold architectural details, with timber wall panelling and sculptural furniture that complement the piece’s energy. This blend of modern interior design and natural materials creates a harmonious, timeless space.
In contrast, Campbell’s rich color palette of dark browns and golden hues led to a more lived-in feel with walnut cabinetry, aged brass tapware, and stone elements. This design marries luxurious interiors with modern materials, offering warmth and character.
These projects showcase how art-inspired interior design can elevate both residential and commercial spaces, creating environments that tell a story through carefully curated elements.
